Welcome to Sikizana trust for community Development.

We are a community based organisation working in Makueni county in Kenya and registered as a non profit organizations under the ministry of culture, gender,, youth and sports. We registered our office for the first time in 2005. Since then, a journey of transformation, care and love has seen several children come through our home. Many have grown to self supporting and started own families. We have seen our community embrace education and more so started appreciating further education for girls.

Apart from taking care of children, Sikizana trust is also involved in planting trees. We train our children to take care of our environment by planting trees at the centre, in their schools and in the community. Our children have been vocal in campaigning against an old practice of poaching. The older children are periodically involved in market cleaning and also attend national environmental days.

Sports play a critical therapeutic role in healing from trauma. We thus make it as part and parcel of our daily activities. We not only engage in sports at the home but also organise for events in the community.

Our home is disability friendly. We have designated washrooms for physically challenged children. All the entrances have ramps to make their movements easy.

Spiritual growth is as important as physical growth. While we do not discriminate any child based on their faith, we endeavour to create an environment of spiritual life. We attend church service every Sunday and once a week we have group Bible study.

Music helps the children relax after a long week of learning. Adults and young join in dance every Sunday evening. Dancing to local to worldwide contemporary beats.
